dvd::rip hangs on create project on FreeBSD 7.3

I just installed 0.98.11 on FreeBSD 7.3-STABLE.

I've configured all the commands, set everything else up.

When I try to create a project (I've tried various locations for the
files), I always get a hang when I click the 'Create Project' button.
All the other menu items work OK (except 'Open Project', which also
hangs).

Any ideas, please?
