John is right. The you-tube plugin in 1.9 has been broken for many months now. If you SVN the newest freevo, you can steal the plugin out to use in 1.9. (Can't steal the apple trailer plugin though) I'm having a bit of trouble with it and mplayer - I think my cache may be set to low as sometimes the video suddenly will stop playing. (only had this issues after upgrade) VLC always works though.
