Hi, I'm new on Fresco but I have compiled and tested it with both GGI and SDL (SDL is slow than GGI but it's more stable ;-). I think Fresco is better and much modern than X11, so I want to contribute. The first thing I'll do is writing an article for an Italian magazine comparing Fresco and XFree 4.3, the second is this desktop environment proposal. I don't know C++, only C, Perl and Python so I can't help you with something server side. The first thing that comes into my head is that all the widgets must stay on the server in WidgetKit. The desktop (now called Pyro because it'll be written in Python) will have some objects like a terminal, panel and a file manager. The panel IDL file is half done (I need to write Pyro::Panel::Applet) and it'll be available on my own website. A file manager is much hard than a panel, but now I am writing an IDL file for it. What do you think about this project? Any idea? -- Pier Luigi Fiorini Rolling GNU/Linux lead developer http://rolling.berlios.de
