I am very glad to hear that, as it proves there are other people who
are capable of compiling GIMP sources (at least part of them) for
Win32 ;-) There has been huge flame wars recently on various mailing
lists about the alleged impossibility for anybody else than the
original porter (Hans Breuer) to build Dia for Win32, with similar
accusations also about GIMP.

I don't know much about TWAIN, or the twain plug-in's inner workings,
so if you have the time and interest to dig into it and understand how
it works, and do improvements, I'll certainly trust your word for
it. Have you tried contacting the plug-in author?

Certainly. Do you want me to wait until you have solved the TODO
issues you mention, or apply the preliminary solution right away?
