Hi Peter, Thanks for the suggestion and warning. However, wouldn't that mean I should be able to access up to 2G pixels in grayscale? This is a common issue that arises on the TIFFLib mailing list. OF course, there may also be an internal GIMP limitation you are hitting as well.
