If there is no text on the button, perhaps youre pango configuration is
incorrect.
The easiest way to make sure this is correct is to extract all the libraries
to a common directory, (e.g. c:\top). This should create etc, lib, share,
bin, .... under the directory c:\top. All the configuration you need for
pango should be setup correctly without modification.
The _("hello world") is todo with GETTEXT (i think - correct me if i'm
wrong) which, if I understand it correctly is all about localisation and
multi language support.
It should be perfectly suitable the way you have done it.
