RE: Reading RAW files

I have a copy of the book "GIMP 2 for Photographers". It has a companion disk, with Gimp 2.2, dcraw 8.28, ufraw, rawphoto and some other plugins.

I'll try to find a newer version of dcraw.

Ufraw can handle the Adobe raw format (.dng), but not the Pentax raw format (.pef). My camera can produce either one.

GIMP uses dcraw to read RAW files. Pentax PEF format is supported by

dcraw 8.69 and later. I guess your GIMP is using an earlier version.



If you're already using the latest GIMP, you could try hunting around

for a newer version of this plugin.
