Hello fellow GiMPers!!

I need a bit of help with my biology BSc's research project; I need to
digitally analyze the hue contents of a series of pictures, or create
a scale of colors, and I want to do it with the GiMP.

Basically, what I need to do is to take a small part of a picture of
an animal (a rock hyrax, lovely little things ^_^) and analyze how
much of its fur color is based on red, brown, yellow etc. The other
option I have for analyzing colors is to make a scale of colors; from
black to yellow through brown, for example.

Sadly, my only use for the GiMP so far was making icons and headers
and banner, not quite the professionals use I now need, and I have
absolutely no idea on how to do such a thing with the GiMP.

I'd appreciate any tip (though a tutorial would be great XD)
Thank you,
Meirav Rath.
