The latest development snapshots of GraphicsMagick 1.1 are available from "ftp://ftp.graphicsmagick.org/pub/GraphicsMagick/snapshots". Normally snapshots are not announced, but this snapshot contains an adjustment for the static Windows package which may be of interest to some. There have been a number of requests for a static binary package of GraphicsMagick which can simply be copied between machines. Rather than create a third kind of package, the static package has been adjusted so that it may run in place without any registry entries. Registry entries are still created by the installer for use by other applications. The static binaries should be capable of executing totally stand-alone. For example 'gm.exe' could be copied to another Windows system, and it should run without any .mgk files or registry entries. ImageMagickObject.dll could be copied to another Windows system, and should be available to programs after executing regsvr32 /c ImageMagickObject.dll Note that the ability to easily copy binaries between machines does not nullify any existing license requirements to provide a copy of the license to the user (BSD style) or make source code available to the user (GPL). Please let us know if you discover problems with the snapshot package so we can fix them.
