Announcing GraphicsMagick 1.1 and GraphicsMagick 1.0.6.

On this special day (04/04/04) I am happy to announce that
GraphicsMagick 1.1 (representing a year of development beyond 1.0.X)
is released today.  GraphicsMagick 1.0.6 is co-released in order to
capture the fixes in the 1.0 branch since the 1.0.5 release.

Currently the packages are available at

and they should soon be available at SourceForge.

To check these sources out of GraphicsMagick CVS, use the
"GraphicsMagick-1_1_0" tag to get exactly 1.1, or "GraphicsMagick-1_1"
in order to track fixes in the 1.1 release branch.

GraphicsMagick 1.1 has undergone gobs of testing on all major
platforms and many bugs have been fixed.  In particular error
reporting is more robust and there should be no memory leaks during
normal operation (valgrind finds no leaks).

GraphicsMagick 1.1 has been tested using the following
platform/compiler combinations:

Windows XP with Visual C++ 6.0 standard edition
Windows XP with Visual Studio .net (2002)
Windows XP with Visual Studio .net (2003)
Windows XP with MinGW (GCC) compiler
Windows XP with Cygwin and GCC compiler
Windows with Borland C++ Builder 6.0
AIX 4.3.2 with IBM C compiler
AIX 5.1 with IBM C/C++ compiler
HP-UX 10.20, 11.00, & 11.11 with HP C/C++ compiler
IRIX 6.5 with MIPSpro 7.4 compiler
Solaris 2.5.1, 2.6, 7, 8, & 9 with Sun C/C++ compiler
Solaris 9 with GCC 3.3.3
FreeBSD 5.0 with GCC 3.3.3
RedHat Linux 7.1 with GCC
RedHat Linux 9 with GCC
Gentoo Linux 2.6.3 with GCC

Other systems and compilers are likely to work without problems since
the software is quite portable.
