Thanks, Bob, for your help! The increasing MVG vector string was the reason for the slow down in the drawtest sample program. But the slow down in our Tcl/Tk App using GraphicsMagick (in a DLL) still existed. Calling ListMagickResources() showed : File Memory Map Disk ----------------------------------- 1536 894mb 3576mb 4194303gb This is quite reasonable for my machine with 512 MB RAM. Creating an environment variable MAGICK_LIMIT_MEMORY and setting it to 2000 completely removed the problem! Calling ListMagickResources() now shows: File Memory Map Disk ----------------------------------- 1536 2000mb 3576mb 4194303gb Performance stays constant all the time as far as I can see. It seems strange that GM switched to disk cache in a process which uses 20 MB ram memory. I 'll send you the task manager screenshots, but I don't know how you could reproduce the effect without our complete software. Maybe I am doing something wrong.
