It would be interesting if ActiveState has actually switched to using
MinGW. GraphicsMagick can be compiled for MinGW, but without the
parts which depend on proprietary Microsoft C++ libraries. These
parts (GUI and ImageMagickObject DLL) were already removed from the
setup installer for the CVS HEAD version.

I have achieved excellent success with the TDM version of MinGW which
can be downloaded from "http://www.tdragon.net/recentgcc/". However,
if ActiveState is compiled with "MinGW", it may be compiled with older
MinGW which uses a GCC 3.X version.
