In CVS head, the PopImagePixels & PushImagePixels functions have been
replaced with ExportImagePixelArea & ImportImagePixelArea functions,
respectively.
The main difference between the old and new functions are:
* Entirely new implementation.
* Uses functions names that I can understand.
* Support a quantum size argument to eliminate dependence on
image->depth and image->colors.
* Quantum sizes from 1 through 32 (even strange values like 3) are
supported regardless of QuantumDepth compilation value.
These functions are critical to a number of key image formats since
they transport pixels out of, and into, the image.
Performance is similar to before.
Note that if the area does not fully fill the bits due to the quantum
size specified (if the quantum size is not some multiple of 8 bits),
the last output byte may include null bit values. The data always
starts with the most significant bits. That means that these
functions are easiest to use in order to support scan-line type
formats (or formats which include pad to the next 8-bit boundary) like
TIFF. However, as long as the quantum size is a multiple of 8 bits,
the functions may be used for concatenating operations as well.
Replacement PopImagePixels & PushImagePixels functions are provided in
deprecate.c to support any code which continues to use them.
