I saw that CinePaint is switching to FLTK for Glasgow. I have FLTK
installed here, but the FLTK GUI design app cores on startup.
Presumably the crash is due to some bug with dealing with the large
number fonts I have installed on my system since it seemed to be
building a font cache when it crashed (it took quite a while before it
crashed).

It has been recommended to me that wxWindows is a better choice in
terms of widget sophistication and due to the fact that it uses native
GUI widgets on each target in order to obtain the expected
look-and-feel. Of course, wxWindows is also much larger and more
difficult to deal with at a project level.

There is in fact a wxWindows-based GUI (wximagick) for
ImageMagick/GraphicsMagick which has simply never been incorporated in
the project. I have played with a pre-built wximagick for Windows and
it performed quite well and is pretty complete even though it is
a fairly simple GUI with pull-down menus.

Even if we were to adopt wximagick, I don't personally have enough
time to devote to a GUI so I am looking for a volunteer to support the
portable GUI.
