Pdf was made from the dot by dot -Tpdf < t.dot > t.pdf dot -V gives "dot - graphviz version 2.26.3 (20100126.1600)" For example, around marriage 197 (in 1886), 6 of the 12 (!!!) children are placed above (older) than the wedding, possibly for reasons of space. I think that then other nodes are placed "rank=same" with these nodes, so the damage spreads. Also in the local sub-cluster of people below marriage 197: persons 542, 512, 44 are on the same rank, but the dates are 1897,1897, 1903. Despite this, on the next (lower) rank, we have person-277, date 1904, and person 654 (date 1898). Other examples can be readily found.
