You could try using ZGRViewer
(http://zvtm.sourceforge.net/zgrviewer.html) to display your dot file.
This is what I use to display my dot file to make sure everything is ok
before rendering a PDF file.  The man web page says "It is specifically
aimed at displaying graphs expressed using the DOT language from AT&T
GraphViz and processed by programs dot, neato or others such as twopi."
