The configure message tells what libs were found rather than what 
plugins are going to be built, so I guess I don't see it as misleading.

Did this happen on a package-managed system?    Or were you 
building/installing locally?
If it was a package managed system then perhaps I need to add a 
"deprecates" someplace?
If it was a local install,   well, you should have done "make uninstall" 
on the old one first ;-)
