It might be that jaunty's kernel changed it to be a built-in driver instead of modular (Fedora's kernel has gone that route, as it makes pcie hotplug Just Work instead of having to know to load an additional module). I know I saw jmicron pcie cards on newegg.com a while back though. Can probably find one there if you dig around through the myraid of offerings.
