oh hell, its compiled in:

carl@dv67:~$ dmesg|grep pciehp
[    1.247944] pciehp: PCI Express Hot Plug Controller Driver version: 0.4

But still nothing shows up anywhere I look (dmesg, lspci...) when I plug it in, 
other than if I plug in a usb device the usb device shows up, but it shows up 
connected to bus 3, which is listed before I put the EC in.

any guess what modules I can load to get the FW to show up?
