Hi there,

I think your software is brilliant and can't wait to use it.

I own a Canon MD101 DV camera with a Firewire card. I went through all the forums in detail for about a week trying to get this camera to "speak" to Ubuntu )V8 Intrepid Ibex - I have only recently last few months switched from MS to Ubuntu). I won't buy a Canon DV camera again, but meantime I have lots of DV tapes to import and simply can't do it. I have run knio under sudo and tried everything. I think my Firewire works also. I've tried in Edit/preferences in Kino but can't see the device.

I am not a newbie to Linux but neither am I an expert. I can follow basic "compile" and "make" sequences okay if there are any fixes oiut there.

Any ideas why it doesnt work?

You'd be stars if you could help!
