Hi all, I'm using Kino in combination with Cinelerra, with Kino mostly used for capturing and exporting DV, and Cinelerra for the heavy lifting re effects and rendering to DVD-compatible MPEG files, with DV as the main project editing and storage format. Since I started working with 16:9 aspect ratio projects, I found that Cinelerra appears to have a bug in its DV codec: when rendering a 16:9 project to DV, the resulting DV file is interpreted as 4:3 henceforth. I already posted questions about this in the Cinelerra mailing list (it's a Cinelerra bug, after all), but so far, without an answer -- which is why I try my luck here. The basic question is simple: is there a way to force a 16:9 aspect ratio onto a DV file -- iow: set the 16:9 aspect ratio header in the DV file? Kino's Edit -> Preferences -> Defaults offer an aspect ratio setting, but this is apparently overridden by the project/video file, so Cinelerra's faulty header settings are not changed.
