You can go more low level and minimal and use libmpeg2 to decode to
yuv and then convert it to rgb. Or, you can use ffmpeg to decode and
its libswscale to get it as rgb. Or, you can use something higher
level like gstreamer, gmerlin-avdecoder, or MLT, and possibly others.
