Dan certainly meant that nobody develops and maintains Kino anymore;
it's quite clear that people still use it. ("Works on" <-> "works with".)
However, if there is anybody out there who uses Kino himself and has a
programming background and a bit of spare time, he or she could very
well adopt the project. (Or join one of the active open source video
editor projects to make it a replacement for Kino.)
Says an outsider who uses Kino only superficially to test kernel drivers,
