I'd much druther Dan stay current with kino if I had my druthers.

He is likely the only one that knows all the nooks and crannies of that code. 
Where kino may get hosed by no faault of Dan's, is by the libraries it uses 
for the various functions, if a new version of a library changes the command 
interface, then that whole section of kino goes splat.  And the author of 
that library may not even be aware that he just hosed the best movie editor 
ever.

Now that _is_ scary.
