Stefan -

Here's the output you suggested. It's a LOT. (Apologies for the
resends...too large initially) To me, this behaves like kernel bug.
For example, firewire capture also fails in kdenlive. And yet, I don't
believe it's hardware (though I guess it's possible) because everything
worked just fine a few months ago. Of course I realize that hardware
can just fail....

I do notice in CLI capture and AVC status error..whatever that might
indicate....

Anyway here the info..

And thanks.

Plugging it out and in again does not help either?

Never run application programs as root, it's too dangerous.

> and to use the pads command to start Kino, but it

> Happy to provide added spec info if needed.

The output of "lspci -nn" would be good, also the output of "dmesg" from a
session in which you captured something and connection breaks up as you
described.

Here's the output you suggested. It's a LOT. (Apologies for the resends...too large initially) To me, this behaves like kernel bug. For example, firewire capture also fails in kdenlive. And yet, I don't believe it's hardware (though I guess it's possible) because everything worked just fine a few months ago. Of course I realize that hardware can just fail....

I do notice in CLI capture and AVC status error..whatever that might indicate....

Anyway here the info..
And thanks.
