found it: dvconnect  captures  raw DV streams from or sends raw DV
streams to the  Linux IEEE 1394 video1394 device. ... channel to send
/ receive on (range: 0 - 63, default = 63).

But:

sudo dvconnect -s -d /dev/fw1 dvgrab-008.dv
VIDEO1394_TALK_CHANNEL: Invalid argument

sudo dvconnect -s -d /dev/fw0 dvgrab-008.dv
VIDEO1394_TALK_CHANNEL: Invalid argument
