Yeah, this is an issue, and is a feature promised in Ardour Real Soon
Now. I have not yet approached any of the Linux audio developers yet,
but we may be able to get some technical support from them.
AniComp, BTW, does directly support JACK and Ardour -- it can be used
for animatics.
I'm also looking into what Cinelerra provides for audio -- I know it at
least supports LADSPA plugins
