Hi Greg,

SUSE user here as well, Add Packman to your list of external Yast
Repositories and then do a search for Mplayer. Packman will provide  you
with a compiled Mplayer for SUSE as well as all the codecs. You  should
also look into Apt-get for Suse as well. For details and  instructions
