I received a email back from Markus M=F6nig, CEO of MainConcept in early =

July regarding the open sourcing of the MainActor video editing =

application. He mentioned that they are considering releasing the =

program as open source software but there would be some costs in =

cleaning up the code. He did not mention anything in regards to patented =

technology or libraries. Hopefully this happens as it would be a shame =

for such a high quality video editing application for Linux to =

disappear. MainConcept would be able to divest themselves of supporting =

the program and make a major contribution to the community.
