I copy this to mcf-general and uci-devel, because both lists are affected.

The developer of a video codec came to corecodec.com webboard and is showing
interest in MCF as a container for his codec. The link above is containing a
summary from him about how the codec works, its definitely not a MPEG based
codec but based on a mixture of wavelet , fractals and 'multidimensional
signalspace transforms' , whatever this is.

He has problems using the VfW interface with his codec, maybe caused by the
limitations of VfW or because he doesnt know exactly how to use the DLLs.

Here my question to both dev teams :

This codec is in a very early development stage it seems, but working
already. The author is not considering to spread any files encoded with it.
Do you see a chance we could use the current form of libuci and libmcf to
give him very basic tools to test his video codecs ? Again, this is only for
testing, nothing else. I figure he might have to take MPEG container if he
cant use MCF for this, AVI wont work i guess. And for us it was a good
chance to test our stuff on real material.

What do you think ??

Christian
