But anyway, I'm not polite either, so that's ok. I could do things innovative too, I could make it in flash, I could use JavaScript, dHTML, CSS, the whole lot. But would it actually /improve/ the site ? The page is intended to look modern, but very calm and business-like at the same time. It does quite a good job at that imho.
