Although I haven't burned an actual VideoCD in a long time, I still put
VCD-grade video onto DVDs.  I like stuffing 8 hours of video onto a
single disc. :-)  Besides, VideoCDs are, along with YouTube-grade Flash
video, my arena for practicing high-quality low-bitrate video, so I'd
like to make sure my ability to make VideoCDs remains current.

My C++ knowledge borders on language-lawyer grade, so that won't be a
problem.  Do you (or anyone else) have a recommendation for a book on
video encoding that'd jumpstart my ability to understand mpeg2enc's
implementation?  I'll buy it today!
