Thanks for adding.
I have change the manpage of mplex so you find the information of the 
new -d option. Please check it, I have taken most of the text directly 
from the README.subtiles.

I will also use that text for updating the mjpeg-howto if you don't 
mind. I will change the text a little, so it fits into the context of 
the howto.
