Some time ago there was a entry to the tracker about the same problem 
but a different solution on Gento:

So we have 2 Solutions for one problem. :)
I'm still unsoure if any of the mjpegtools uses still V4L (1)
I think someone wrote a not about V4L2 and the mjpegtools but I can't 
find that right now.

The only 2 programms I remeber using V4L are lavrec and lavplay (H and C 
Option). After all Zoran cards do work now only under very specific 
conditions any more (>2 year old kernel, only 2GB Ram ....)

So I merged both patches into one. And put them into CVS.
That problem will be worked around correct ;)
