i was wondering, is anybody working on an mencoder port to g2, or is there still some major work that needs done on g2 before it wold be feasible? if it's just that nobody has worked on it yet, i might give it a shot. also, as i understand it, one advantage of g2 over g1 is that it can process multiple streams at once, and this would be great to put into an mencoder-g2 eg. for ripping multiple dvd audio tracks, etc. i'm just not sure how it would work with mplayer's command-line processing, especially what sort of syntax would be used to specify possibly different encoders/encoding options/filters for different streams. even with g1, just specifying a decent set of encoding options for one stream gets a bit unweildy. as much as i hate the abundant over-use of guis when there's no need, a gui for selecting tracks to encode, along with filters and encoding options could be much nicer than the command line for more complex encodes. or does somebody have an idea for a good command-line syntax? -- Bobby Bingham
