Hello,
I am in the same situation using saa7134 with Pinnacle 310i, and a recent
mplayer subversion snapshot.
It goes in timeout:

Not able to lock to the signal on the given frequency, timeout: 30
dvb_tune, TUNING FAILED

The cards works correctly with w_scan, Kaffeine, scan and tzap.
