I have the same problem, witch I figuered out to be not a mplayer problem, but a problem with my XVideo-Extension. I'm using a "ATI Mobility Radeon M6 LY" on my Dell Notebook with XFree 4.2 from Debian/sarge (=testing). I did not manage to find a solution yet, but I also did not try very hard. As a workaround, I configured my WindowManager (fvwm2) to stick and stay-on-top every XVideo-Window from mplayer, xine, ogle, etc. A friend of mine now has the same problem with Debian/woody (=stable). He has a "ATI Radeon Mobility M6 LW". With Mandrake 9 he had running before, the problem was not recognized! Has anyone a hint, how this problem can be solved?
