Hi,
the syntax of channels.conf is the same as the one used by szap; I know it's the same as an old version of VDR, but I'm not sure if it's 1.2.1 or some previoud version.

Your channels.conf should be copied in ~/.mplayer, and you should remove all non free to air channels (mplayer hangs on them).

Remember to load dvb-core with dvb_shutdown_timeout=0.

Can you run mplayer -v -v dvb://Pro-7 >& log and report the file log, please?
What's your dish configuration? 2 LNB? Where are they pointing to?
Remember to read the docs in DOCS/en/video.html, please.

Thanks,
            Nico
