Black screen with vo xmga

Hi,

I send this message, that could be useful for the few people still using 
matrox video out.

I recently faced a problem: all the video played with -vo xmga option 
were black (blank screen, no image ; just the window's borders)
Reading the docs, I figured out that there where options to pass to 
/dev/mga_vid and the "blackie" option was the culpit for me (I don't 
know what this option is used for).

So, if everything seems OK but you have a black screen using -vo xmga, 
try this : echo "blackie=off" > /dev/mga_vid
