cannot open /dev/dsp Fedora/RaspiOS64 bit

Dear mplayer users/developers,

mplayer does not play music files as it mentions cannot open /dev/dsp.  it was working before.

on another file mp4/webm it reports same message but can hear sound.

something is wrong.  please help/advice.
