Hello, In the Message; Subject : [MPlayer-users] Can't disable "q" for quit Message-ID : <[email protected]> Date & Time: Fri, 19 Jun 2026 23:14:02 +0200 [SA] == Stephane Ascoet <[email protected]> has written: SA> Hi, SA> I use Mplayer 1.2.1 on an old Debian on an antique computer. The version of MPlayer you're using is too old. Version 1.5 of MPlayer was released around February 2022, and the current version is 'MPlayer 1.5.r38685-16 (C) 2000-2026 MPlayer Team'. Generally speaking, in the open source community, they can only accept questions regarding the current version, so please keep that in mind. In any case, the "q" key exit function is hardcoded and cannot be disabled by editing input.conf. The most practical solutions are; 1. to get into the habit of using the ESC key to exit, or 2. to rebuild from source code and remove the "q" key binding. In the long term, I recommend considering a switch to mpv, which offers more flexible configuration options. However, installing mpv may be difficult on older Debian systems.
