you're right, he cannot.
divx 5 dll has strong copy and debug protection (combined with someting like
exe-compressors) making win32 emulation almost impossible (but at least lots
of work and emulation of windows details).

but divx5 pro is available for linux too, just nobody saw it yet. feel free
to buy it (they offer it for money...) then it should work.
maybe if you have legal divx5pro for windows, you can get it for free (ie
for the same money/license).
