Hello List,
After my last "Ogle-session" I noticed a lot
of error messages in my system log. After checking
with other DVD's (video and DVD-Roms) I saw the
errors were generated every time I used a DVD (Just
having a DVD in my DVD-station was enough to generate
the error massages).
This is the message the kernel generates over and over:
hdc: packet command error: status=0x51 { DriveReady SeekComplete Error }
hdc: packet command error: error=0x50
ATAPI device hdc:
Error: illegal request -- (Sense key=0x05)
Cannot read medium - incompatible format -- (asc=0x30, ascq=0x02)
The failed "Read Subchannel" packet command was:
"42 02 40 01 00 00 00 00 10 00 00 00 "
After this the message repeats until I remove the DVD.
(hdc is my DVD-Station)
I also noticed that when the kernel puts this message in the
log, ogle gives a little glitch. Use of DVDs is normal (except
for the gliches in ogle).
I hope someone can help me with this.
I use SUSE Linux 8.0 with NVidia kernel and
have a AOpen DVD-Rom
