But can you tell which these 'seemingly unrelated packages' are, and maybe
we can find out what was wrong. Or maybe it had something to do with
the way you installed the libraries you compiled yourself and something
changed after you made a reboot (if you have done a reboot?).
Anyway, it's nice that it works now.
