My system has neither OSS or ALSA, and in oglrc I've got: <audio> <device> <driver></driver> <path>/dev/dsp</path> My Linux uses the sound modules supplied with the kernel, and /dev/dsp does work for other apps. I'm wondering if the problem is in liba52 rather than Ogle... there is a a52dec program for testing liba52, but it requires a file with a ac3 audio in it ...I believe I need a ".vob" file ...anyone know if there is a suitable file somewhere that I can download? a52dec just needs "a52dec filename" to play the file, or so the docs indicate.
