mouse strangeness

hey,

when i run ogle i get a black square where the mouse
was. any idea how to remove this? (it's just a bit annoying)

i've tried removing my mouse and running X w/ the
AllowMouseOpenFail option, but when X starts up i get the
curser in the middle of the screen and then when i fire up
ogle i get the black box in the middle of the screen.

this is a htpc running mythtv, so i don't normally touch the
mouse or keyboard

setup:

ogle 0.9.2

XFree86 4.3.0

Matrox G400 AGP vid card (tried both the stock mga driver and the download from matrox)

RedHat 9 w/ tons of updates via apt-get (sources.list from http://apt.physik.fu-berlin.de )
