bizarre behavior, possibly region related?

Hello, all

I just installed Ogle, and while testing it out with my collection, a 
strange thing happened.  All my region 4 dvd's play normally, but both my
region 1 dvds play faster than normal, choppy, and with no sound.  As far
as I understand, my DVD drive is zone-free, but of course, I am likely not
to understand too much.  Has anybody seen this particular behavior, and
knows how to solve it?
