I've now finally upgraded to Fedore Core 1, and I do get some info in the debugger now. It seems odd that the old version shouldn't work, since I've debugged other software on the same setup. I still get a number of "(no debugging symbols found)", but maybe that refers to some of the libs being used. Anyway, thanks. For the actual problem I was looking at, refer to my other recent tread.
