I'm having problems with my shiny new Plextor PX-712A drive. I never had
any of these problems with my Creative Labs Dxr2 one.

I'm watching the Mash Season 7 DVD. When it goes to a new episode, Ogle
crashes with this error message:

Ogle can't read any data.
Make sure that the CSS authentication works correctly.
See also the FAQ at http://www.dtek.chalmers.se/~dvd/faq.shtml
Three common problems are:
no write permission on you DVD drives device node.
you are trying to play a DVD from a region other than the one
of the DVD drive.
or you have never set the region on the drive.

For setting the region; a program called regionset will do this.
Search for dvd_disc or dvdkit on freshmeat.net
Beware that you can only sset the region 5 times!

ctrl: ipc_rmid: Invalid argument
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Then, the eject button on the drive doesn't work. To get the DVD out, I
have to issue an "eject -s /dev/hdc" command. I already tried setting the
region code with regionset, this is what it said:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
foo@bar:> regionset /dev/hdc
regionset version 0.1 -- reads/sets region code on DVD drives
Current Region Code settings:
RPC Phase: II
type: SET
vendor resets available: 4
user controlled changes resets available: 4
drive plays discs from region(s): 1, mask=0xFE

Would you like to change the region setting of your drive? [y/n]:y
Enter the new region number for your drive [1..8]:1
New mask: 0xFFFFFFFE, correct? [y/n]:y
Region code set successfully!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

What. The. Fuck. Gives?!? Should I return the drive?
