There seems to be a lot of folks having problems with SuSE 9.2.
It might be because it's a laptop and so has LCD, external, video-out(?),
so try switching the external output on/off, and/or the video-out.
The output from 'xvinfo' for me says the same that the debug out put from you
X-Video Extension version 2.2

What version of the drivers is this? from glxinfo I get
[hjort@1-1-4-7a hjort]$ glxinfo |grep version
server glx version string: 1.3
client glx version string: 1.3
OpenGL version string: 1.5.1 NVIDIA 61.06
glu version: 1.3
or you can log in XFree86.0.log (or Xorg.0.log)..
Other than that I'm not sure what advise to give you.
